The thirteenth edition of Europe Top 12 in Cleveland saw a really close and unpredictable battle for the top three spots. The Czechoslovak veteran Milan Orlowski was able to repeat his 1977 success and win the gold medal after winning 8 out of 10 games. The local fan-favorite Desmond Douglas finished second, and the winner of the previous year’s edition, Mikael Appelgren, won the bronze.
