Hungarian Extraliga has been played since the 1924. Many table tennis legends who won the gold medals at the World and European Championships have successfully played in this league – Miklos Szabados, Zoltan Berczik, Istvan Jonyer, Tibor Klampar, and many others. BVSC has been the most successful Hungarian club with 25 national titles.
