NEWS & ARTICLES
East German table tennis had relatively small success on the international arena, compared to their Western counterparts, but there were some players, like Heinz Schneider and Siegfried Lemke who had success in the international tournaments. Schneider won the bronze medal in the singles event at the 1957 World Championships. On the national level, Siegfried Lemke won 19 gold medals, remaining the most accomplished East German player ever.
