Zoltan Mechlovits was born in 1891, in Budapest, Austria-Hungary (now Hungary).
A former World Ranking leader, Mechlovits was a 6-time World champion – three times in team event, twice in mixed doubles and once, in singles event. On national level, he won 11 Hungarian Championships titles – 5 in doubles, 4 in singles and two in mixed doubles event. On professional circuit, Hungarian international won 8 singles and three doubles titles. On club level, Mechlovits won 6 Hungarian Extraliga titles.
