In 1985, he became the World champion in doubles event. Carlsson is a 2-time European champion in team event. He is a 4-time Swedish champion – three times in doubles and once, in mixed doubles event. On professional circuit, Carlsson won one singles and 5 doubles titles in his career. On club level, he won 5 Swedish Pingisligan and one Champions League title.
