Panagiotis Gionis was born 7 January, 1980 in Athens, Greece.
He is one of the strongest European defenders of his generation, a bronze medalist in the 2013 European Championships singles competition. On the professional circuit, Gionis has won three singles titles in his career. On the club level, he has won 5 Polish Superliga, two German Bundesliga, as well as one Czech Extraliga title.
