Jun Mizutani was born 9 June, 1989 in Iwata, Japan. He started to play table tennis at the age of 5.
In 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Mizutani won a bronze medal in singles event. Four years later, in the 2020 Olympics, he won a gold medal in mixed doubles event. On the professional tour circuit, Mizutani has won 8 titles in singles and 4 titles in singles event. On the national level, he is a record – 10-time Japanese champion in singles event. On the club level, Mizutani has won three T-League, two Russian Premier League, one German Bundesliga and Champions League titles.
