Ioannis Sgouropoulos was born 8 May, 2000 in Athens, Greece. He started to play table tennis at the age of five.
He is a 2-time Greek champion in singles event. On club level, Sgouropoulos has won three Greek A1 League, two Swedish Pingisligan titles, as well as one French Pro A League and ETTU Cup title.
