Sarkis Sarhayan was born 26 November, 1947 in Batumi, Soviet Union (now Georgia).
Sarhayan won several silver and bronze medals at the World & European Championships. On the professional circuit, he won one singles and 6 doubles titles in his career. On the national level, Sarhayan was the most accomplished player in the history of the Soviet Championships, winning it on 26 occasions – 12 times in doubles, 9 times in mixed doubles and 5 times in singles event.
