Roland Jacobi was born 9 March, 1893 in Banska-Bystrica, Austria-Hungary (now Slovakia).
He was the first World champion in the table tennis history. In total, Jacobi was a 4-time World champion – twice in team event and once in singles and doubles events. On national level, Jacobi was a 6-time Hungarian champion – three times in doubles, twice in singles and once, in mixed doubles event.
