Bohumil Vana was born 17 January, 1920 in Prague, Czechoslovakia.
Vana is one of the most accomplished table tennis players of all-time, a former World Ranking leader and a 13-time World champion – 5 times in team event, 3 times in doubles and mixed doubles events, and twice in singles event. He was a 9-time Czechoslovak champion – 7 times in doubles and twice in singles event. On professional circuit, Vana won 5 singles and 6 doubles titles in his career.
