Aleksandar Karakaševic was born 9 December, 1975 in Zemun, Yugoslavia. His father Milivoj Karakaševic was an Yugoslavian international and World & European Championships medalist.
He is known as a great doubles player. Karakaševic is a 4-time European champion in mixed doubles event. With German club SV Plüderhausen, he won two ETTU Cup titles.
